Bacteria and other impurities aside, culinary water in the southwest is very high in calcium (hardness). A newly filled pool may already have calcium levels over 300 ppm which can quickly exceed the recommended levels. You can never reduce the calcium level with chemicals, and calcium buildup (hard water buildup) is not only unsightly but can cause serious damage to your pool's system.
Reverse osmosis offers many benefits, including cleaner and clearer water, improved water balance, extended equipment lifespan, reduced chemical usage, and a healthier swimming environment. It's the optimal way to maintain your investment.
And the main reason to use pool water reverse osmosis ... to NEVER DRAIN YOUR POOL AGAIN. See the following FAQ to understand why draining should only be a last resort when pool RO is unavailable.
If after a quick look, you're thinking that it would be cheaper to simply drain and refill your pool, then yes, you are for sure missing something.
No problem, we can explain!
Draining and refilling not only wastes thousands of gallons of the water you already have, but it also exposes your plaster.
Do you remember that when your pool was originally plastered it was immediately filled with water to cure? There's a reason for that. Plaster is meant to stay wet. Always. Exposed plaster contracts and can delaminate and develop microcracks that you don't even notice for months or years.

and you'll see that our service offering is a truly incredible deal.
And this is only considering plaster. A pool is engineered to be full of water. The weight of the pool water pushing outward compensates for the weight of the groundwater pushing back in. If you've ever heard of a pool "floating" or other serious damage to the area around the pool it is likely due to a pool that was emptied and succumbed to the effects of hydrostatic pressure.
One more factor to consider is that many pool parts warranties will be considered void if the calcium levels in the pool (and thus surrounding the equipment and individual parts) is at too high of a level.
Which is why it's so important to keep in mind that in Southern Utah, refilling a pool with water straight from the hose means refilling the pool with already elevated levels of calcium.
Probably not the best way to start.
When your calcium level exceeds 400 ppm, or cyanuric acid exceeds 100 ppm, or you just want that soft water feel and the peace of mind that your pool has optimal levels of sanitation!
Total dissolved solids (TDS) is a measurement of everything that has ever dissolved in your swimming pool water - calcium, sodium, dissolved dust, pollen, swimmer waste, etc. Acceptable TDS is around 1,500 ppm or lower in chlorine pools; 3,000 ppm in salt pools.
Our process removes or lowers calcium (hardness), chlorine, sodium chloride, cyanuric acid, manganese, magnesium, nitrates, and phosphates, as well as viruses and bacteria.
While our primary focus is the reduction of calcium and CYA, reverse osmosis does play a significant role in reducing phosphates in pool water.
The RO system utilizes a specialized semi-permeable membrane that acts as an extremely fine filter. As the pool water is forced through this membrane under pressure, it effectively captures and removes a wide range of contaminants, including phosphates.
The membrane's microscopic pores are so small that even dissolved compounds like phosphates are filtered out of the water. This thorough filtration process significantly reduces phosphate concentrations, resulting in water that is notably depleted of these compounds.
It's worth noting that the levels and duration of phosphate reduction will vary depending on factors such as initial phosphate levels, pool usage, and local environmental conditions.
Here's a great article from Swim University about phosphates and pool water if you'd like to learn more: https://www.swimuniversity.com/pool-phosphates/
If you have algae in your pool please let us know the details of the situation. If the algae is minor or just beginning, we may be able to perform our service and combat the problem by removing the "food" that algae feed off of. However, if the water is green we will not be able to utilize Reverse Osmosis (see following FAQs).
Reverse Osmosis (RO) filtration is not designed to clean up green pools. While RO is incredibly effective at removing impurities and contaminants from pool water, it cannot effectively address an algae bloom at that stage.
When faced with a green pool, it's crucial to first eliminate the algae problem through proper pool maintenance and sanitation. After the water is clear and balanced, RO filtration can be used to maintain the pool's water quality and prevent future issues.
Here's a recommended course of action:
Increase Chlorine Levels: Ensure that the pool has an adequate amount of chlorine (at least 3 parts per million) to combat the algae. Adjust chlorine levels as needed, especially in warm weather when algae growth is more rapid.
Proper Filtration: Verify that the pool's filtration system is running for an appropriate duration. Dirty filters should be cleaned or replaced, and old filter media may need to be refreshed.
CYA Levels: If CYA levels are high, you may need to increase the free chlorine concentration to effectively combat the algae.
Once the water is clear and free of algae, you can likely utilize Reverse Osmosis to recycle the pool water, ensuring it meets high-quality standards and is ideal for combatting future algae.
It takes about one hour to set up the system at your home. Actual filtering time depends on the amount of TDS in your pool. Saltwater pools take longer to filter than chlorine pools because they have higher TDS. Most pools take between 10-24 hours. You should expect us to begin service on the morning of your scheduled date, and our trailer will remain in place for 24 hours (until the following morning).
We recommend every two years. However, if you just want that soft water feel or if your pool is used with high frequency you should consider having it done yearly. If it is a commercial/public pool, it really should be done at least yearly.

Reverse Osmosis purification does not take the place of your regular pool maintenance. However, implementing this as part of your pool upkeep plan offers a more comprehensive and sustainable approach to pool maintenance, as it reduces chemical usage and provides long-term benefits for both water quality and equipment.
Yes, reverse osmosis is a safe and environmentally friendly purification method. It reduces the need for excessive chemicals, conserves THOUSANDS of gallons of water per pool, and creates a healthier swimming environment for you and your family.
Yes and no. Reverse osmosis can help reduce the appearance of stains on your pool's surface by removing minerals that contribute to staining. However, for stubborn stains, additional treatment methods might be needed. For example, algae spots will need to be scrubbed in advance, and for serious calcium buildup, we recommend that you schedule a sandblaster to service your pool before
reverse osmosis.

Our mobile reverse osmosis technology is not your mother's under-sink RO system!!
The Reverse Osmosis system we use is on a much larger scale. Our process utilizes significantly higher rates of pressure as well as a second passthrough. This allows us to save up to 85% of your existing pool water.
The portion of the water that is "unsavable" is considered brine water, and is routed safely through the septic system.
“My Pool has never looked or felt better. thank you so much. We are loving the fresh clean water. We are so pleased that we don't have that dry, itching feeling after swimming. We feel great knowing we conserved water and had no down time for draining and refilling.”
“Thank you again for the amazing job you guys did renewing my pool water."
"Living here in southwest Utah, we have extremely hard water, and ... my hardness had gotten up over 850 ppm. ... This in turn clogged my filter requiring regular cleaning. ”
"Your process is amazing! And with the water shortage just makes so much sense. The filters removed 'everything' from the pool, and the water just feels and smells so clean!"
"WHY DIDN'T I KNOW ABOUT THIS SOONER???? Their goal is to help pool owners save thousands of gallons of water ..... why would anyone ever drain their pool???"
"Our chemical levels are back to where they should be with no waste"
"I simply cannot say enough about Pur Pool Water. THANK YOU for seeing the need in our area and bringing the ONLY water purification system to Southern Utah. THANK YOU!!!”
"I was beyond shocked to see how well the process worked. It's like having a new pool and the water feels wonderful. This place is five stars and would recommend them to anyone. Thank's Pur Pool you have a customer forever.”
